Happiness is . . . a flashlight tour at the Desert Botanical Garden!

My dear friend Sarah and her children are touring Arizona with her Auntie Anne this week.  We spent an exciting evening at the Desert Botanical Garden learning about the beauty of the Sonoran desert and its amazing critters like the leopard lizard, king snake, and tarantula.  We heard the deep chortle of bull frogs and the piercing shrieks of toads at the desert pond.  We even saw the elusive HAraNDtula on a Saguaro cactus!  As we were leaving, one of the wonderful volunteer guides took us to see a special treat--a night blooming cactus.  One of the boys then noticed a king snake slithering through one of the succulent beds!  It was a night full of fun!

A Rose By Any Other Name

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting the rose garden of my tennis instructor, Brian Cheney.  Not only is he an international tennis champion, but an accomplished cultivator of an amazing rose garden.  His roses have such interesting names as Chris Evert, Julia Child, Elizabeth Taylor, Ronald Reagan!,  Nancy Reagan, (Abe) Lincoln, Toulouse Lautrec, and Guy Montpassant, to name a few.  Enjoy feasting your eyes on these marvelous little gems!

Frances Vintage's Crafeteria Was a Huge Success!

Crafeteria was a huge success!  Many thanks to everyone who came out.  We were expecting 1,500 people and, despite the cold, it seemed like our expectations were met.  I sold nearly all of my stock and am busily working in the studio to replenish.  My friend Josie Cirincione, who is incredibly talented, decided two weeks before Crafeteria to create these plates.  They were quite a hit!  They can still be purchased at Union in the Biltmore Fashion Park Shopping Mall.

Thanks to everyone for your support!
